Safe Place was launched by Onus NI on a regional basis in February 2011. It is supported by a diverse range of organisations, including sole traders, employers, community groups, schools and churches. Safe Place is an initiative offering information on the wide range of services available to anyone affected by domestic violence or abuse. Any organisation can become a Safe Place by attending Safe Place Webinar.
Following a Safe Place Webinar, you will have the opportunity to register your business, organisation or community group as a Safe Place and be provided with a supply of Safe Place resources. As a Safe Place you will display the Safe Place logo. This indicates that information on services for anyone affected by domestic violence and abuse is available on the premises. Organisations will not have to do anything beyond signposting people to the appropriate services.
Onus NI will provide information and support to all who sign up to the scheme.
